About

Challenges accepted!

Empathy is my driving force. Communication is my superpower. Creativity is my soul food.

I approach the teaching and learning process like a captivating riddle, taking joy in the journey of uncovering clues and assembling pieces to address learners’ needs, gaps, struggles, and ultimately, potential! I thrive in a team atmosphere but do not shy away from individual projects and challenges.

With a decade of teaching experience across various settings, ranging from special education to online art education, I have developed a knack for overcoming communication and learning barriers. Additionally, my background as a communications manager and content developer/editor for an online teaching platform has further enriched my skill set.

Transitioning from my final year as a classroom teacher, I am now wholeheartedly dedicated to the field of Instructional Design. Most recently, I completed a professional internship position with a training team at an accounting software company where I eagerly absorbed valuable advice and knowledge from my team members.

I genuinely value feedback and constructive criticism, as they serve as catalysts for continuous improvement in my work.

Here are a few fun facts about me, and how they align with my role as an Instructional Designer.

1. I am fascinated with birds, collecting and displaying pictures and figurines of them in my home. However, I am not great at identifying different species. This exemplifies my belief that being an expert on a subject isn’t necessary to appreciate its value and communicate its significance to others.

2. I heavily rely on a trustworthy GPS system and the use of landmarks in my daily life, refusing to accept cardinal directions alone when navigating to a destination. Similarly, I prioritize user-experience, ensuring smooth and intuitive navigation for learners in my designs.

3. I have been collecting paint swatches from hardware stores since I was a child. This love for design aesthetic reflects in my work, where I aim to create visually appealing content that also functions seamlessly.

I am ready to embark on my next instructional design challenge!
